Google Maps

My groups idea is linked by statue's around world, the main story is how and why they are all going home. Our starting point was 'Another place' in Liverpool. The 1st story is...
Prince Erik and the rest of his kingdom set out to try and find the little mermaid, his one true love. However, there was one wicked old witch who wouldn't let a happily ever after happen. They searched the whole beach for the rock where his mermaid lay, but it was no good, she was nowhere to be found. The wicked old witch had been watching them for hours as they searched, she saw the Prince and his followers getting closer to where the mermaid was, she had gave them enough time. She cast them all to stone so there would never be a happily ever after for Prince Erik and the little mermaid.

This leads the story to the statue of the little mermaid statue in Denmark, her story is...
The princess mermaid of the sea set out on a journey to become human to gain the love of a human man. Foolishly, the little mermaid enters into an agreement with an evil sea witch in order to become human herself, although the price was her precious voice. She had 3 days to make Prince Erik fall in love with her, an ultimately kiss her, otherwise she would be doomed. The little mermaid will only get a soul if she finds true love's kiss and if the prince loves her and ultimately marries her, then a part of his soul will flow into hers. Otherwise, at dawn on the first day after he marries another woman the mermiad would die broken hearted and disintegrate into sea foam, The evil witch explains to her that humans have a much shorter life than mermaids do- being 300 years, although when mermaids die they turn to seafoam and cease to exist, while humans have an eternal soul that lives on into Heaven. After the 3 days, the prince still hasn't vowed his love to the little mermaid, meaning she would return into her mer-self and return back to her family under the sea. The little mermaid refuses to leave her true love and consequently she gets turned into iron by the sea witch for not obeying the rules.

This leads the story to the statue of the Horton's Folly Penguins in Scotland, their story is...
They were on their way to find the princesses father to tell him that his daughter had been turned to stone, as they were walking to the town to tell the king they were confronted by the sea witch, each penguin tried to tell the witch a different reason why they should not be turned into stone. The witch decided none of there reasons were good enough and turned them all into stone.

Which then leads the story to the statue called 'The Awakening - Buried Giant' in Washington, His story is...
The mermaids father heard about his daughters story. He different from the rest, he was allowed on land when he wanted to, whilst he was on land, he heard about the story so he made his way to the sea to kill the sea witch. As he reached the beach trying to look for his daughter at the sea witch's palace. The sea witch was so powerfull that the king did not stand a chance against her. she made the sand below his feet sinking sand. He could not get out in time and was turned into stone whilst he sank.

This leads the story to the statue called 'corporate head' it is in front of the ernst & young building in downtown los angeles, he does not have a story...
He is a reporter, he reported on every story of each of the statue's until the witch go so tired and annoyed that, as he was on his way to work she put his head in the wall so he could not see anything to report on and turned him to stone.
