Film Test

The film test today was HARD! I wrote way too much on cinematography, leaving me no time for narrative and narration. FAILURE! Just have to wait &see what the 16th December brings, probably bad news but oh well at least I tried. I think that I should of revised more than I did.

16th came and a second isn't as bad as I thought, I did think i would be getting a FAIL!

Lots of work to do

Working everyday apart tuesday is killing me slowly.
Knowing I should be doing this blog more often is kind of annoying me as I dont have time too, so now im not in work or in uni im trying to catch up.
2,000 word essay to do, revision for this film test tomorrow and still lots of filming to do, so little time yet SO much work to do, YAWN YAWN YAWN!

People on the move

Monday's Lesson includes a lot of filming, walking round Liverpool in what feels minus degrees on monday freezing my fingers off in the FREEZING cold is not my idea of fun I have to admit. I think my group has a good idea though and I hope it turns out how we planned considering we have high goal to reach.

My groups people on the move idea is...
A student gets a knock on the door and finds a jigsaw at their front door. The student then puts the jigsaw piece together, just when the student thought they had finished the jigsaw there is a piece missing. The jigsaw came with a note, this note has instructions for the student to go to a a few destinations to get the final piece of the jigsaw. Once the student has the final piece they go back to there house and puts the final piece in the jigsaw &then when the jigsaw is completed the student jumps for joy and ends up knocking off the jigsaw and breaking it.

The final piece worked well and did as it intended, making student laugh.

Random images/de Bono cards/Eno cards and Brainbox

Putting 2 images together to come up with an idea to benefit the screen school was difficult, but fun and interesting. Many idea's such as 'knowledge bars' are beyond what I ever thought would come into my head or being part of a group and coming up with the idea. Funnily enough most of my groups idea's were things that couldn't actually be made, I honestly wish someone could make them real. A knowledge bar would seriously come in handy at this moment in time.

It was difficult to write about all of these in an reflective essay as I kept running out of words, but the final piece was okay.
The screenR did not work so well as the sound didnt even work so I have a silent screenR.

Game Idea

- Name: Mix and Match
- Prezi Link - http://prezi.com/ua7ucqah-nua/ice-brake/
- Meaning: Ice breaker, team work, aimed at freshers.
- Groups contain 5+
- App for phones or tablets/website for PC
- Idea for game: To begin with each person will start by making a profile on the website or app and will be asked a series of questions, each question includes something to do with each theme for each round, for example 'What is your favourite song'. Each round will have a different theme e.g music, a memory, films etc. Depending on the theme the question whilst making the profile will either ask you to upload a picture or answer a question. Quick fire rounds when on images come on the screen and everyone in the group has 10 seconds to answer who it is. Then longer rounds further on when each person has to convince the group wether it is their memory or not. Each profile will be asked new questions everytime they log on.

How do you know what to do?
There is a 'How it works page'

Wat type of experience is it?
This is an experience for freshers to get to know each other, it is fun and allows new students to get to know a bit about each other. This game can be a starting point to conversations.

Do you need to learn how to play?
Students don't need to learn how to play as the site will explain as it goes along.

What raises tension?
Knowing if the student is right or wrong raises tension.

Do you need to learn skills or strategy?
The best skill to learn is other people's reaction to the image or question put up on screen.

Are there levels?
There are 6 levels altogether, sometimes there can be more depending on the amount in the group.

How do you know its finished?
Everyone knows the game has finished when the last level of the game has been played

Is there a winner?
Each round has a winner, the winner at the end the round decides the for fit for the looser of the next round. The winner of the hole game is the person that has won the most rounds.

Questions

What has been your interest and experience of media to date?
I started doing media at GCSE level and discovered this is what I enjoyed most. The technology used in my high school was not very advanced, it was just simple camera's and tripods. From this I was able to begin understanding how the media works in TV, Film, etc. From doing media at GCSE level and enjoying it I decided to carry it on to A level, in which I used Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Green Screen and very high technology. I used this technology to create a music video, in a group of 4 we all decided how to contribute, someone was chosen cameraman, someone else was chosen actors and I was chosen director as I had the best management skills in the group. Here is a link to the music video we created... http://loretomedia-e1-09-group1.blogspot.com/2010/12/final-music-video.html

What would you like it to be in future?
I would like to be able to direct music video's as I really enjoyed it whilst doing it in my time at college. Also because I LOVE MUSIC! As my uncle is a sound engineer and my step dad works for an animation company I'm in a good spot and have a few connections.

What media are you interested in as both consumer and producer?
As consumer I am interested in what the producer makes me most interested in and how they can do that. As a producer I am most interested in what makes a consumer most interested in the story's I have to tell them.
